Interior Basement Waterproofing
When there is water in your basement, the only option is to get it out. In the past this was probably done with a simple floor drain at the lowest point of the basement but we've come a long way since then. We now understand the best way to control water entering your basement is with an interior waterproofing system. Our experts have been designing these systems for years and they understand that no two basements are the same and every basement will need a system specifically designed for the exact problem it has. This means a thorough basement inspection should be completed by an professional to determine exactly where the water is entering the basement so we can design an optimal system.
We utilize products that have proven themselves time and time again to control water entering basements and prevent it from causing damage. Once we have installed a custom designed waterproofing system, you can rest assured knowing the water will no longer be flooding your basement. This means you can finally get around to finishing your basement or be able to fully use the area for storage of your clothing, photos, furniture, and holiday decorations. It is also important to note that once you have a basement that is no longer a victim of water problems, it will be a much healthier area because we will have removed the catalyst for producing dangerous mold and mildew.
How Do Interior Waterproofing Systems Work?
The products we use are designed to collect, divert, and remove water from your home. This is done using a system of channels that will collect the water as soon as it enters your basement. Whether that water is coming in through a crack, under the footing of the walls, or through the walls themselves. Once we have collected the water, we will send it through the channels to a collection area or a sump pit. This is where all the water that enters your basement will end up. Once in the sump pit, we will utilize a high strength and high capacity sump pump to move the water up and out of the basement area. These pumps are designed to industrial standards to run near endlessly if they need to in order to keep your basement dry.
Interior Waterproofing Products
Some of the waterproofing products we use are outlined below. These are not all of the products we use but are ones that we use regularly to build our systems.
The Flat Track product is designed to use 66% less trenching than other types of similar systems which means less time and digging are required for installation. It features a rapid flow design that is specially engineered to outperform all other subfloor waterproofing systems.
SquidGee Dry System
The SquidGee Dry System is an interior waterproofing product custom-tailored to fit your basement. This product is designed to collect moisture that comes in at the basement cove which is where the wall and floor meet. It features a hollow channel at baseboard height that will collect and drain water.
An important part of any waterproofing system is a dehumidifier. This product will help ensure the humidity levels are under control and will prevent the growth of mold or mildew. We have many different types, sizes, and capacities for every situation your home could have.
In addition to installing a variety of waterproofing products to keep your basement dry and protected, we can also install insulation to help seal off the area as well as improve the waterproofing qualities of the specific area. We can apply Dow spray foam insulation to the floor joists and around the top of the footer. This is an expanding foam insulation that, when applied properly, can add additional waterproofing qualities to the area as well as add much needed insulation to an area that is usually not insulated at all to improve the overall conditions in the area.
